My name is Lara, I was a student at BOA Stage and Screen Production Academy from September 2022 to July 2024 on the Production Arts Pathway, specialising in Hair and Makeup.

Throughout my time on the course I gained many new skills and had the privilege of working on some fantastic projects such as demonstrating prosthetics at the ‘Prosthetics Event 2023’ in Coventry. I also worked on several short films which were filmed in Birmingham as a makeup artist, one was nominated for an award at the Flatpack Film Festival, and the other won best short film for the ‘48 hour Sci-fi Film Challenge’ . I was also the Head of Hair and Makeup on the 2023 Christmas show Peter Pan at the Old Rep Theatre in Birmingham as well as working on many other theatre shows and promotional events.

All these opportunities were created by my fabulous teachers at Stage and Screen who guided and helped me achieve my goals. Following successfully completing my course I gained a place at Arts University Bournemouth on the BA (hons) Makeup for Media and Performance which I am starting this September.

I would highly recommend BOA Stage and Screen to anyone who would love to work in the Creative Arts Industry and who is keen to pursue a career in Theatre, TV and Film.
